Royal bavarian diner in the style of c 1800

In the extensive hunting grounds of the Bavarian dukes and kings, a passion of royal proportions unfolded-the hunt, that sublime craft of the huntsmen. This year, it is our intention to honor this noble tradition with a royal Bavarian dinner.
Times changed through secularization, the loss of imperial immediacy, and the reforms of Montgelas that fundamentally transformed old Bavaria. Across vast stretches of Franconia and Swabia extended the territory, while ancient Palatine Wittelsbach possessions lost their way.
Ecclesiastical domains such as Würzburg, Bamberg, and Eichstätt were secularized, thus placed under state administration. In this transformation, the sovereign hunting rights fell to the king, including the hunting privileges of the prelates who once led the regional monasteries. A legal distinction between the Wittelsbach dynasty and the Bavarian state was now made.
In 1804, the sovereign hunts were converted into state hunts, and with the abolition of noble privileges in 1808, the class-based hunting rights on the land court's grounds extinguished. King Max I Joseph acquired the secularized Prince-Provostry of Berchtesgaden and the Tegernsee Abbey, from where he embarked on mountain hunts-a novel venture that demanded considerable physical exertion from the hunter.
The hunt shifted from the precincts of the capital city to the majestic mountains, remaining a privilege of the reigning dynasty and the nobility.

A modest dinner marks the splendid prelude to the ball weekend. The past occasions were so delightful that the decision was made to expand the event. Finally, the opportunity arises to don the Robe de Cour in all its splendor and celebrate courtly ceremony in its full glory.
For this festive occasion, a small lesson in etiquette and decorum will be offered in advance. In this workshop, not only will the behavioral norms of the time be presented and practiced, but also a code of conduct for the evening will be devised, into which even those who have not attended the course can effortlessly assimilate.
