Lovely Regency ball
6th June 2026 • Prince-bishop's residence • Eichstätt
In a truly intoxicating night of dancing, where we float to the sound of music through the enchanting Hall of Mirrors of the Eichstätt Residence, we want to give in to the temptations of the game and the pleasures that this festive setting offers us. The festive atmosphere fills the air as we lose ourselves in the dances of the Empire, all of which will take us back to times gone by.

Let us celebrate together the grandeur of Augusta Amalia, the Italian Queen and Duchess of Eichstätt! In this festive moment we remember her and her husband, Eugene of Beauharnais, the first Duke of Leuchtenberg in Eichstätt. They brought the splendor of the Empire and the courts of France, Italy and Bavaria to Eichstätt.

As always, dancing and charming encounters are the focus of this social event. The ball's contredances are the most pleasant way to get to know everyone present without saying a word. The evening promises to be a truly magnificent spectacle, characterized by original historical dances from the years 1770 to 1820.

P R O G R A M

The repertoire I have developed offers a wealth of dances that flourished between 1770 and 1820. Like a dance floor, the ball is supported by a „Caller”, me personally, your „Maîtré de Danse”, who leads you, the guests, through the amusing choreographies. The special feature of the evening, however, is underlined by a dance from 1695, „Mr. Beveridges Maggot”. This timeless dance is a must at any Jane Austen ball. In the key scenes of „Pride & Prejudice” and „Emma”, it was used to embellish the declarations of love at the balls in the films.

The guests of this exquisite event are invited to dress in magnificent costumes in the style of the early 19th century. May this ball in Eichstätt become an unforgettable journey through time through the elegance and magic of the Regency era.

It is up to you, my guests, to make the ball in Eichstätt a perfect experience. Please follow my costume suggestions so that we can truly immerse ourselves in the time around 1800.

German is primarily spoken during the workshops.
At the ball, all calls will again be in German and English,
but I will continue to use the historical English names for the dance figures.
I will base my teaching on the figure catalogs of the era.
A list/catalog of the figures will be sent out before the event and posted on the website.

Thank you for your understanding.
I wish you a smooth participation and lots of fun.

The objective of the evening is not
to win or loose a palace or fortune.
it is just to get two tickets for the next year's ball.
The winner is the owner of the largest amount
of chocolate coins at the end of the day.
Good luck!!
