Bavaria emerged as a kingdom from the tumult of history.
In this era of apparent peace, lavish celebrations found their way
into magnificent halls and elegantly adorned salons.
Lively dances and entertaining games served as a means
to pass the precious time that was so sparingly measured between wars and battles.
A true „dance on the volcano,"
considering how fragile the calm was after the storms.
Now, after the victorious years in Ansbach and the years of privations
that imposed the horrors of the Corona restrictions on the world,
and after the subsequent tumults and crises,
could it be true that we are finally moving towards
a new chapter of joyful times? May 2025 be the anticipated year
when reality returns, and the world transforms into a festive dance.
While the Eichstätt Residence, where once Amila Augusta of Bavaria
found refuge after her escape from Italian adversity,
may not offer the same grandeur as the royal festivities of days gone by,
it will provide the suitable setting for a splendid ball
in the style of the early 19th century
an intimate gathering in the respectable tradition of bygone eras.
Join us on this wonderful and enchanting journey through time,
where the world of Jane Austen and Bridgerton comes to life.
The Eichstätt Residence opens its doors
for an evening of elegance and social splendor.
I sincerely hope that the carefully curated event package

To add a special touch to the dancing pleasure,
all ball dances can be learned and practiced
in the days leading up to the grand event.
A magnificent hall in the heart of the city is at our disposal,
allowing us to spend an entire week amid baroque Eichstätt.
Let us stroll through the various castle grounds,
promenade through beautiful parks, and immerse ourselves
in our magnificent attire to transport ourselves to times past.

Short description (women):
Basically, only the undergarment/chemise is worn for dancing.
Most dresses have been low-cut at balls since 1795.
An absolute must are white, usually long gloves.
Light shoes are worn,
which correspond to today's women's ballerinas or ballet slippers.
Caps and hats are left indoors.

Up until 1830, trousers with over-the-knee socks were still worn at balls.
White gloves were an absolute must.

and carried or placed under the arm.
Please no uniform or riding boots in the ballroom!
These are expressly prohibited by the ball regulations,
your ladies' feet will thank you.
In addition, the ballroom administration only permits light footwear to preserve the historic wooden floor!
You are welcome to participate in the festivities in the foyer dressed in this way.
